Meeting with Julia Huang


As you all know, Julia Huang, our Expansion Manager from Yale University came to Azerbaijan, to see how everything is going on.
We held our meeting o 14th of March in the conference hall of The Fund of Aid for Youth of the Azerbaijan Republic".
Irakliy, MCP of AIESEC Georgia was also at this meeting.

Julia and Irakliy talked about their experiences in AIESEC. Julia also taught us how to dance Cotton Joe. :) Then we watched the video of 60 years of AIESEC.

Khayala also told us about 2 projects that we will realize. Actually I wrote more about this projects in the rpevious posts. So, yeah, everybody can nominate himself/herself to be in the OCP teams.

On the photo you can see us with Julia in the metro, coming back, tired and hungry, from the meeting in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. :)

2 Projects: choose, develop, succeed

1st Project is Cultural Project: May 3, 2008

Team for each country:

  • AIESEC members should be divided by small groups, 2-3 people in each.
  • Each team chooses only one country all over the world [it is preferable to choose the countries which have embassy in Azerbaijan.]. Each team will present this country culture and tradition in event day.
  • Each team has to collect comprehensive information about the culture of the selected country.
  • Each team is responsible to collect the right information on culture and of the country. Please, use official information of the country.
  • Each team should be creative on how is the best way to present correctly the culture of other country. We - AIESEC Azerbaijan VPs can help to you to give contacts of relevant people from different AIESEC countries. You can collect their roll-calls. You can also, learn basic words or a little about the language of the country which you will present.
  • Event will be organized in May 03, 2008

For country presentation we need more than 20 countries.

Organizing Committee [OC] Team for “Cultural Project”

  • Organizing Committee President [OCP] – [1 person] - who will be responsible for realization of all tasks by OC members in time; will check the readiness of the groups for the selected country presentation. Motivation and highest responsibility is required. Team management skills are required.
  • Organizing Committee External Relation [OCER] - [2 people]- will prepare the list of key guests [media, officials, embassies and etc.], send invitations, check the availability of the guests, prepare PR material on the event and published it in different newspapers and web resources. Writing skills and good communication skills are required.
  • OC logistics [2 people] - will be responsible to find place, to decorate the place for the event and to provide the event with technical equipment [such as: microphone, projector, musical techniques and other necessary technical equipment, (stendleshdirme)]. Promptness and flexibility is required. 2 boys are preferable.
  • OC guest servicing [2 people] - check the availability of the guests, to greet VIP in the entrance and check the participated guests name in the list. Hospitability is required. 1 girl and 1 boy are preferable.

For organizing committee we need totally 7 people.

2nd Project is Career Project: June 01, 2008

AIESEC Azerbaijan organized Career Days in June, 2006. We could involve more than 10 companies to this project. This is a good opportunity for the youth, recently graduates to create
the contact with companies, to collect useful information on companies which will be helpful for them to make decision in their career building process.

Organizing Committee [OC] Team for “Career Project”

OCP - [1 person] - who will be responsible for the realization of all tasks by OC members in time; will check the implementation of work and control to discharge of OC team members’ duty.

OC PR- [1 person] - prepare PR material on the event and published it in different newspapers and web resources. Good writing skills and design background is required J

OC ER [2 people] - establish relationship with companies and make them interested in this project. Sales skills and highest communication skills are required.

OC Marketing [1 person] - help to ER team to make strategy on involvement and attraction of companies, to find common issue between @ Azerbaijan and companies, to analyze supply and demand of companies. Analytical skills and creativity is required.

OC guest servicing [2 people] - will prepare the list of key guests [media, officials, embassies and etc.], send invitations, check the availability of the guests, to greet VIP in the entrance. Hospitability, knowledge on VIP people is required J

OC IS [1 person] - design web site and update information. It will be good to prepare registration database for participants. Database for registration participants should be ready in the May 30, 2008. Database should be more flexible for quick registration. IT background is required.

Job Description:

The main responsibility will be to update clients' websites through web-based content management systems in their native language and liaison with clients, 3rd party suppliers and project management team on the content management projects.
